What are Ragnarok Online private servers?
Ragnarok Online private servers are independently operated servers that recreate or modify the MMORPG with their own rates, episodes, level caps, job progression and gameplay rules. Some follow Pre-Renewal mechanics, while others use Renewal systems and newer content. Servers can also differ in equipment availability, custom features, PvP, War of Emperium and how quickly characters progress.
What is the difference between Pre-Renewal and Renewal Ragnarok Online?
Pre-Renewal servers generally use the older Ragnarok Online combat, stat, leveling and progression systems from before the Renewal update. Renewal servers use the later mechanics introduced as the game evolved, including changes to character progression, combat formulas and newer job and content systems. The choice has a large effect on builds, leveling and endgame gameplay, so it is one of the most important differences to check when choosing a Ragnarok Online server.
Which Ragnarok Online episode should I choose?
A Ragnarok Online episode indicates the stage of game content a server is based around. Earlier releases such as Episode 5 focus on an older portion of the game, while versions such as Episode 13.2 include considerably more content. Newer servers may use releases such as Episode 20.1 or Episode 21. How do level caps and jobs differ between Ragnarok Online private servers?
Ragnarok Online private servers can use very different Base and Job level caps and may stop progression at different generations of job classes.
